I am undecided I am able to keep in mind just if age experienced priority over gender or vice versa. There would certainly be exceptions, e.g. if anyone was sufficiently essential, they'd be preceded by a herald who'd announce them; it would be really apparent which the herald was performing on behalf of the VIP, and never on his individual behalf.
